There are plenty of ways to see the island of Kauai: by sea, by air, by land. How about exploring the island by horse? If your family is up for an adventure, I have just the thing for you.
Book a horseback riding excursion with Esprit De Corps Riding Academy. They offer guided tours to groups large or small. Their horses are also equipped to handle riders both large and small, making it a perfect family outing. Youngsters (ages 5-6) can join the fun with the assistance of a “pony guide” for an extra fee. Heavier set people can also join in on the fun as their horses can carry up to 300 lbs. The saddles used are comfortable, Western saddles. Riding lessons are also available.
Tours range in length and are hosted every day of the week. Here are the options:
- 90 minute ride: $99/person or $139 for private ride / 9:00 and 3:30 September-May / 9:15, 11:30, 3:30 June, July, August
- 2 hour ride (includes lunch): $119/person or $170 for private ride / 11:00 and 1:00 September-May / 9:00, 1:00, 3:00 June, July, August
- 3 hour ride (includes lunch): $139/person or $209 for private ride / 9:30 and 1:30 September-May / 9:30, 11:15, 1:30 June, July, August
