This summer the Island of Kauai will host a groundbreaking art show at McBryde Garden: Nature Connects. A collaboration between Lego and artist Sean Kenney, this exhibit is sure to impress. Kenney has created 14 sculptures that depict the wonders and beauty of nature using just Lego bricks.Kenney used 370,000 individual pieces to create his latest works – a unique exhibit indeed.
This particular sculpture exhibit has been taken across the country. At every stop those who witness it are amazed at what Kenney has accomplished. This award winning show has been described as an unforgettable experience, and for the first time in Hawaii Kenney’s work is now being displayed. McBryde Garden in Kauai will host the Lego sculpture collection from May 6 through July 10, 2016. The Garden is the perfect place to witness Kenney’s incredible work as the backdrop of its 50 acres of exotic plants will beautifully blend in with the theme of Nature Connects. Some of the sculptures on display will include birds that appear to be in flight, butterflies landing on delicate blooms, and an array of intriguing flowers and creatures.
Nature Connects Art with Lego Bricks is a great family event and attendees of all ages will be wowed by Kenney’s whimsical masterpieces. Just about every child loves and knows Legos. Taking them to this event will provide inspiration for their own brick sculptures at home, open their eyes to the possibilities that await when they use their imaginations, and spark conversations about the natural world.
The exhibit is at McBryde Garden. Self-guided tours will depart every hour each day from 9:00 am to 3:30 pm. Tickets to the event cost $15 to $30, and all ages are welcome to tour the sculpture area.
