One such event is the Kauai Colors for Cancer Fun Run/Walk. This event is open to anyone (not just locals) and provides an opportunity to get your kids up and moving while also making them aware of the needs of others. Ultimately, the 5K fun run/walk is a great way to exercise, contribute, and take in the local Kauaian culture.
Better yet, the fun run/walk is a COLORS race which means that while the contestants run, colored powder is thrown making the entire event a sensational party. You and your kids will walk away colored in pinks and blues and yellows from head to toe. This is an event you won’t want to miss.
The Colors for Cancer Fun Run will take place Saturday, June 27 at 9:00 a.m. (7:30 a.m. registration) at the Vidinha Soccer Field (just 25 minutes northeast of the Villas at Poipu Kai). All proceeds will go to the American Cancer Society. Register early at www.racesonline.com or on June 26 from 4-6:30 p.m. at the Vidinha Stadium. The race is $30 for adults and $20 for students.
