Hawaiian borders are open for everyone to visit. If you’re ready to take some vacation days and go to Hawaii, we’ve got you covered with some travel tips that will help you navigate covid protocol.
Villas at Poipu Kai Tips For A Safe Trip
Have Your Negative Covid Test Results Upon Arrival
It’s really important that all the travelers have negative Covid test results handy before landing on any of the Islands of Hawaii.
The test has to be done within 72 hours of your arrival, otherwise, the results won’t be valid. With the negative results, you’ll be able to skip the 10-day quarantine that is mandatory for travelers without test results.
Safe Travels Program
The Safe Travels Program was created in September of 2020 by the Hawaiian government to help inform people about Covid-19 and to help residents and visitors enjoy safer trips to the islands.
In this platform, you’ll find screened arrivals, upcoming registered trips, travel exemptions, departure airports, and also upload your test results. You must register because it’s free and you’ll have lots of info in the palm of your hand.
The only results that will be accepted by the Hawaiian authorities are from any FDA-authorized NAAT test, processed by a CLIA licensed or certified lab taken within 72 hours of departure.
CVS and Kaiser Permanente are the only trusted testing partners.
Countries Where Flights Are Still Suspended
Although Hawaii is reopening its borders to visitors from around the world, visitors coming from Brazil, China, the European Schengen Area, Iran, Ireland, South Africa and the United Kingdom will have their entrance denied, even if they bring a negative test.
This also means visitors from other nationalities that have been in any of those countries in the last 14 days will also be denied entrance.
Be Prepared To Spend Some Time at the Airport
Just in case this is your first trip after a long time, there are new rules and more steps. You must be prepared, especially in case you’re traveling with kids, to spend more time than usual at the airport because of the new protocol.
Travelers are asked to provide personal information, travel history, local contact information, and more. Don’t stress and try to follow/answer everything the airport crew asks you.
Choose the Right Place to Stay
After you pass all the protocols and are free to go, you must stay in a place that is following all the protocols to ensure your and your family’s safety. A great idea will be to stay at Poipu Kai vacation rentals like Villas at Poipu Kai.
These villas are perfect for spending your family vacations. The rooms are big enough to fit everyone, a fully equipped kitchen for all your meals and big facilities to enjoy. And if you want to watch the sunset, visit one of the most popular beaches in Kauai Poipu Beach that is just a few minutes from the villas.
