Jazz it up this weekend at the Red Clay Jazz Festival! If you are a fan of classy jazz music like myself (ever seen a monk seal play the sax? It’s a beautiful thing), this festival is a perfect way to spend the rest of your week.
The Red Clay Jazz Festival began in 2008 and is funded by the Kauai Concert Association through the W.S. “Pete Robinson Fund. The goal of the festival is two fold: 1) to bring jazz artists to stages in Kauai to enhance the enjoyment of and appreciation for jazz music and 2) to educate youth about jazz music and artists in order to stimulate interest and study of the art. Performing artists include Jimmy Borges, Betty Loo Taylor, Ken Emerson, and Will Bernard among others. These artists will be performing as well as teaching, and following last year’s innovation, the festival will include blues music in addition to jazz. This is an event you don’t want to miss!

This four-day festival runs from Wednesday, June 25th – Saturday, June 28th, daily 4:00-9:00 pm at the Kauai Lagoon’s Resort in Lihue.
