We want to start with our favorite, Poipu Beach, which is located on the South Shore of Kauai. Ideal for a family beach day thanks to their small and quiet waves.
If you’re planning to take surf lessons in Kauai you should definitely do it here. Other water sports you can practice in Poipu are snorkeling, swimming or boogie boarding.
Hanalei Bay
Hanalei Bay has two miles of white sandy beach surrounded by some fascinating mountains that will take your breath away. Located on Kauai’s North Shore, it is a good option if you would like to try stand-up paddlers because you can find small waves.
It’s part of Hanalei Bay, where you can also find the Hanalei Pier. If you’re looking for a less crowded beach, Hanalei Beach is an ideal choice.
Kiahuna Beach
Kiahuna Beach is located at the Southern Shore in Kauai. It’s also an ideal beach for water sports, especially if you want to try doing snorkeling. This beach is usually chosen by professional surfers because the waves are bigger thanks to the outside reef.

Mahaulepu Beach
Like other South Shore beaches, Mahaulepu Beach is an ideal spot to practice water sports in Kauai. One of the most popular here is windsurfing but you can also try fishing and swimming.
But this beach isn’t only known for its crystal clear water but also for the famous Mahaulepu Heritage trail, which you can try if you like hiking.
