Kauai has a number of organizations, groups, and nonprofits that give back to the local community in many important ways. One such organization is the Aloha School. This nonprofit early learning center created a program focused strongly on academics while also instilling traditional Hawaiian cultural and moral values into its students. The Aloha School relies in part on help from the community to ensure it is able to continue its record of excellence, and one of its largest annual fundraisers is the Wine Tasting Event: an evening that combines fabulous food and wine with music, an auction, and fun activities, all to help a worthy cause.
Aloha School’s Wine Tasting is in its third year, and will take place on Saturday July 16, 2016 from 6:30pm to 10pm at Tahiti Nui. In addition to the tasty variety of wines that will be available to sample, there will be live entertainment, delicious food, a silent auction, and a fun Hawaiian photo bus on-site. One of the highlights this year will be the vintage Hawaii costume contest. To enter, come dressed in your favorite old school sarongs, Hawaiian shirts, and tropical attire for the chance to win great prizes.
Proceeds from this event will go towards supporting Aloha School’s mission to provide quality education and care to Hawaii’s children. The school plays a vital role in preparing children for entry into kindergarten and has become a very important institution in the Kauai area. The NAEYC accredited preschool works with other groups to provide financial assistance to families who need help paying tuition, enabling many children the chance to attend whose parents otherwise wouldn’t be able to afford it.
This fundraiser was quite successful in its first two years, and 2016’s event will be even better.
